2013 TBR Pile Challenge

Buying books, putting them in the shelf, reading some of them, buying again, put, read, buy, put, etc, etc and in the end some books are left at the bottom of the shelf. Oh, I’m really sorry, dear books. Big thanks to Roof Beam Reader for this challenge, so that I could save my books from being abandoned 😀 The challenge is simple. Just to read 12 books from my to-be-read pile within 12 months. But the books must be on my shelf for at least one year. And after checking my bookshelves, I decide this list:

  1. Postern of Fate by Agatha Christie
  2. The Minds of Billy Milligan by Daniel Keyes
  3. Germinal by Émile Zola
  4. The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka –READ
  5. Atlantis by Greg Donegan
  6. The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall
  7. The Tenth Circle by Jodi Picoult –READ
  8. Through A Glass, Darkly by Jostein Gaarder
  9. Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman –READ
  10. The Witch of Portobello by Paulo Coelho
  11. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury –READ
  12. Kim by Rudyard Kipling

Alternates :
1. Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
2. Anne of Avonlea by Lucy Maud Montgomery

  1. Ah, you’ve got some good ones, here! Germinal is fantastic and Fahrenheit 451 is one of my favorites. Metamorphosis is interesting, and I enjoyed Howl’s Moving Castle, too (just read it this year!).

I haven’t heard of some of these, though, so I’m looking forward to your thoughts/reviews. I’ve been meaning to read Kim for a long time. Good luck!

    • Yes, I can’t believe that I could abandon those good books for a long time.. some of the books were from my favorite author, so this challenge is a helpful way to go to them. Thanks again 🙂
